#83: Leaving Notes In Library Books

img_45041

Today, I left a second note in a library book. Last time I left a note, someone asked me what my note said and if I would share. I wouldn’t then because that day there had been a thought marinating in my brain and without thinking too much, I scribbled it on a piece of paper, folded it in quarters and stuck it in the book. Amazingly, my thoughts cleared after that — like I had just been waiting for a chance to get the nagging ugliness out of my head and away from myself, and once I did I was fine.

Today’s note was decidedly less profound and I don’t mind sharing because… well… I think we were all on the same page with “Lord of the Flies”, right? (And really people, the sheer number of people who have said to me AFTER the fact that the book gave them nightmares – I wish you had said something earlier!!!).

What a great idea. You’re getting it out of your mind while creating a little surprise for the next reader. It’s like a message in a bottle, sorta. 🙂

Actually, message in a bottle is on my list too… God only knows what I’m going to write on THAT one.

  3. I liked Lord of the Flies. 26 years ago. But I admit it might have seemed cooler to a 14 year old than it really was. Kind of like watching Tron now.
